Wines of Central and Eastern Europe

Central & Eastern Europe—re-imagined

At CEE Wines, we define CEE by geography, not politics.

Our map spans from Poland’s Baltic shores to Armenia’s Caucasus peaks, and from the eastern banks of the Danube in Austria and Germany to Georgia’s ancient qvevri cellars.

It embraces the vineyards of Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, and the Baltic countries—regions where millennia-old traditions and bold new winemakers intersect.

Together they form a living mosaic of under-the-radar terroirs, native grapes, and stories waiting to be uncorked.

The Grand Polish Wine Experience

Experience the Tour

  • Berlin to Winnica Turnau
Our journey begins in Berlin with two convenient pickup points before heading east into the Polish countryside. Our first stop is Winnica Turnau, arguably Poland’s most renowned vineyard, known for its outstanding Solaris and connection to famed musician Grzegorz Turnau. With 42 hectares under vine and guidance from celebrated German enologist Frank Faust, this estate sets the tone for the days ahead. A guided tasting and local sightseeing complete our splendid welcome.

  • Pałac Mierzęcin and Santok Region
We visit Pałac Mierzęcin, a beautifully restored estate where Poland’s first Rieslings were crafted. Here, enologist Monika Stępień—trained in California—oversees a boutique production with elegance and precision. In the nearby region of Santok, once part of historical Neumark, we explore biodynamic and artisan producers like Winnica Dzika and Vineas Montis, sample heritage ciders, and enjoy a fish-forward 19th-century Neumark feast. A private art exhibit hosted by contemporary artist Mr. Gąsiorek rounds out a culturally rich day.

  • Cigacice and Dwór Kolesin
A leisurely boat cruise on the Oder River leads us to two captivating vineyards: Winnica Cantina and Winnica Winnogóra, both of which carry on the region’s pre-WWII winemaking legacy. Here, we taste refreshing Sauvignon Blancs and a rare Golubok varietal. A visit to a private arboretum and an elegant manor dinner at Winny Dworek complete the day.

  • Żagań and Zielona Góra Region
Today we explore the lively Zielona Góra wine scene. At Winnica Miłosz, you’ll meet Krzysztof Fedorowicz—natural winemaker, storyteller, and Nike Literary Prize nominee (Polish Literary Prize). We continue to Winnica Kinga, a family-run gem led by a second-generation female vintner. En route to Wrocław, we stop at the Augustinian Abbey in Żagań, where a tasting in a medieval cellar features the sweet treasures of Marcin Furtak and Winnica Saganum. A visit to a centuries-old monastic library leaves a lasting impression.

  • Winnica Jaworek and Wrocław
Enjoy a relaxed morning in beautiful Wrocław before an evening visit to Winnica Jaworek—the first Polish vineyard to legally register its bottles. Their Gewürztraminer and Riesling shine in a stylish, brick-walled setting, accompanied by a refined dinner with paired wines.

  • Wieliczka Salt Mine and Winnica Wieliczka
We descend into the legendary Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO marvel of underground chapels and salt-carved wonders. Emerging back into the light, we visit Winnica Wieliczka, a fully biodynamic vineyard founded by Agnieszka Rousseau, the first Polish enologist with a foreign diploma. A lecture on biodynamics and an exceptional tasting follows.

  • Kraków’s Culinary and Spirit Traditions
Today, we trade wine glasses for shot glasses at the Vodka Factory Museum in Kraków, where you’ll learn the art and history of Poland’s favorite spirit. Prior to that, enjoy a hands-on pierogi-making class and a cozy, self-made meal—Polish comfort food at its finest.

  • Vineyard Tastings and Riverside Dining
We travel to Sandomierz, a picturesque town perched above the Wisła River. Highlights include the Dominican vineyard near the castle, a gourmet lunch at the Widnokrąg restaurant-gallery, and a tasting at Winnica Nad Jarem, with panoramic views that rival the wines.

  • Kazimierz Dolny and Barczentewicz Estate
Our grand finale takes us to Kazimierz Dolny, a town once rich in merchant vineyards and still echoing with legends of Polish kings. We enjoy a guided walk, soak in the romantic charm of its streets, then settle in for a spectacular farewell dinner at Winnica Kamil Barczentewicz. Known for producing Poland’s finest Pinot Noir, this estate is where tradition and precision meet in the glass.

  • Our unforgettable journey concludes in Warsaw with a tasting dinner at the KUK restaurant, paired with Polish wines, paired for you by Tomasz and Tomasz.
